# Your Profile

> Set up and manage your angler profile on Open Fishing Cup

# Your Profile

Your profile is your public identity on Open Fishing Cup. It shows your statistics, personal bests, and catch gallery to other anglers.

## Accessing Your Profile

Tap your **avatar** in the navigation bar and select **Profile**, or navigate to the **Profile** page from the menu.

## Profile Information

### Required Fields

Fields marked with a red asterisk (**\***) are mandatory:

* **Display Name** — your public username
* **Country** — determines which country rankings you appear in

### Optional Public Fields

* **Bio** — a short description visible on your public profile
* **Social Media Links** — Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok URLs displayed on your profile

### Private Fields

Some fields are marked with an 🔒 icon and are **never shown publicly**:

* **Address**
* **Postal Code**
* **City**
* **Date of Birth**

<Tip>Hover over the lock icon next to a field to confirm it is private.</Tip>

## Changing Your Country

Updating your country triggers important changes:

1. You are **unregistered** from any competitions that don't include your new country
2. Your **country rankings** are recalculated for both the old and new country

<Warning>Changing your country cannot be undone instantly — rankings need to be recalculated.</Warning>

## Public Profile Page

Every angler has a public profile at `/angler/your-slug` showing:

* **Statistics** — total catches, species count
* **Personal Bests** — your longest catch for every species (not affected by year filters)
* **Catch Gallery** — paginated grid (12 per page) of your approved catches, with year and species filters
* **Social Links** — clickable icons for any social media you've added

### Profile Slug

Your profile URL slug is generated from the display name you choose during initial profile setup. Once set, **the slug is permanently locked** to ensure stable, shareable URLs. Only platform administrators can change a slug after the initial setup.

<Tip>Choose your display name carefully — it determines your permanent profile URL.</Tip>

## Privacy Settings

Under **Privacy Settings** you can toggle **Show full name**. When enabled, your first and last name are displayed across the platform — on your public profile, catch cards, rankings, and notifications. When disabled, only your display name is shown.

## Notification Settings

In the **Notification Settings** section you can configure:

* **Email notifications** — toggle on/off
* **Push notifications** — toggle on/off
* **Override email** — optionally receive notifications at a different email address
* **Granular preferences** — expand the collapsible section to enable or disable specific event types (e.g., likes, comments, follows, catch approvals). All are enabled by default.

## Sharing Your Profile

Tap the **Share** button on your profile to generate a shareable card image or copy a direct link. You can share to social media, messaging apps, or download the image.

## Device Lock (Mobile App)

When you log in on the native mobile app, your device is registered to your account. To prevent fraud and account sharing, only **one mobile device** can be active per account at a time.

* If you switch to a new device, the old device is automatically logged out.
* After switching devices, you must **wait 30 days** before you can switch again.
* If you try to log in on a different device before the 30-day cooldown has passed, the login will be **blocked**.
* This restriction applies only to the mobile app — the website is not affected.

<Warning>If you lose access to your device, contact support at [admin@openfishingcup.com](mailto:admin@openfishingcup.com) to have your device lock reset.</Warning>

## Deleting Your Account

In the **Danger Zone** at the bottom of your profile settings you can request account deletion.

1. Tap **Delete Account** and confirm
2. A **72-hour grace period** starts — during this time you can cancel the request from the same section
3. After 72 hours your account is permanently deleted, including all catches, images, rankings, competition data, follows, and notifications

<Warning>Account deletion is irreversible after the grace period. All your data will be permanently removed.</Warning>
